The word Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a combination of two Japanese characters: REI stands for the spiritual force in our lives, and KI is energy. In English it means the energy of the Universal Life Force, which is our body’s vital life-force that exists everywhere in the universe and is inexhaustible. The Reiki practitioner channels Universal Life Force Energy by placing the hands lightly upon the body of the person receiving Reiki.
An ancient healing system, Reiki was rediscovered by a Japanese monk named Usui in the late 1800s. After years of work, study and research, the Usui healing system evolved and continues to be taught by Reiki Masters whose personal and professional lives are dedicated to the healing of others.
It is common for the person receiving Reiki to experience heat, tingling, deep relaxation, and peace. We provide a quiet, safe and relaxing environment to maximize the effects of Reiki. A typical session with the Reiki Masters at The Pathway is about an hour, but can be as short as 20 minutes and can last up to an hour and a half.
In addition to providing individual sessions, we also give training classes in Reiki Levels I, II, and III, and Mastership levels.
Our position on being a Reiki Master is that you are achieving mastership of your own life, and that is the focus of our training.
