Dr. Julia L. Jackson was born and raised in the city of Philadelphia. After attaining her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in psychology from Wesleyan University in Middletown , CT. She found that she loves to work with her hands and pursued a field which harmonized a relationship between art, science and people. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Temple University school of Dentistry in Philadelphia. Then she went on to complete a two year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York. Followed by a four year Oral and Maxillofacial Residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington,DC. She looks forward to a fruitful partnership with Dental Care Alliance, Affordable Care and Implant Pathway to create a future that continues to help the underserved population by providing compassionate quality care with a patient-centric attitude. Dr. Jackson has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education every year in implant dentistry, bone grafting, restorative implant dentistry, and new surgical techniques to stay up to date on all advancements in these fields. ⠀⠀⠀ Dr. Jackson regularly attends continuing education to further her knowledge base and stay at the top of her field in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Jackson avidly promotes continuing education and has accumulated over 1600 hours since dental school graduation in 2005. Dr. Jackson is an active participant in organized dentistry, holding several memberships in dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Virginia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Jackson lectures regularly on implant dentistry locally, in two different Study clubs that she started, 1st Ladies of Dentistry and The Essentials lecture series. She is also part of launching a support program for referring doctors around the state called Tooth Titans DSO. Dr. Jackson is involved with many community organizations, including National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Mission of Mercy Donated Dental Services and the nation wide Give Kids a Smile program. Dr. Jackson is current in dentoalveolar procedures such as surgical exodontia, wisdom teeth extractions, tori reduction, alveoplasty, hard and soft tissue biopsies, bone grafting, and full mouth reconstruction with dental implants. Dr. Jackson has a full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practice that utilizes the best available technology to help make the best decisions possible for her patients.
