Measure twice, cut once” is a woodworking motto Dr. Ryan Sass takes to heart. He believes in proper diagnosis, planning, and patient education before proceeding with any treatment. He understands that dentistry can be confusing and he always wants to be sure everyone has the same expectations before anyone gets a numb lip. After graduating from Henry Sibley in Mendota Heights, Dr. Sass headed north to the University of Minnesota Duluth. While studying Cellular and Molecular Biology, he was honored with the Mowbry Scholarship for academics before graduating Cum Laude with his Bachelors of Science degree. He then studied dentistry at the University of Minnesota where in his final year he was selected to study alongside prosthodontic residents. When receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery, Dr. Sass was recognized among his peers and received Distinction Honors. In the years since his graduation he has gained a Fellowship in Implant Dentistry and has completed more than three times the number of educational credits needed to maintain his license per year. He strives to stay up to date with current treatment to best serve his patients. He lectures with Great Lakes Implant institute, mentors with The Pathway, and is available to dentists around the Twin Cities for over the shoulder mentoring. In addition, he is a consultant for 3Ms dental division and serves on the St. Paul Dental Societies review board. Dr. Sass is active in his community and has volunteered with many organizations including Second Harvest Heartland, Ronald McDonald House, and the Union Gospel Mission. He also gives back by donating his time to Give Kids a Smile, a day where children receive free dental care.
